We design and engineer shoreline stabilization strategies for sites ranging from inland waterways to high energy coastlines, including a variety of strategies from soft habitat shorelines to revetments, walls, and hybrid systems that minimize environmental impacts.

Our team designs fixed and floating wave attenuation systems appropriate for all climates, ranging from systems that resist massive ice forces in the Great Lakes to the second largest floating wave attenuator in the world, located in New Zealand.

We help communities create legally defensible coastal management and zoning strategies to preserve soft shorelines, protect existing structures, and reduce the need for hardened shoreline systems. Our work led to the first adopted coastal setback in Michigan.

Our team is at the forefront of the design of the most innovative living shorelines and offshore segmented habitat islands that protect harbors while utilizing natural currents to direct sediments either around facilities or onto the shore for beach restoration.

We use the latest modeling software systems and lead physical modeling studies to refine the design of structures and harbor works to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective design, while demonstrating performance necessary for permitting.
